What is a field period?

Field Period is when a student is required to complete a period of time doing something that relates to their major. For example, a nursing major may intern in a hospital or an education major in a school. Field period is created to help students get a feel for possible careers and put them out into the world in jobs that connect to their major. 

For my first field period i will be going back to where my love of history first bloomed. My middle school. I will be student teaching or assisting in the social studies department and i am soo excited to go back to my roots and help students that were once like me develop a love for social studies.
